Special Economic Area (SEA)

Panama is one of the most competitive economies in Latin America and provides government and social stability by promoting an enabling environment for investment and development.

Since 1948, Panama offers a set of tax benefits, migratory and labor incentives to those local or international companies who want to invest in Panama, with the purpose of promoting international trade.

The special economic area plays an important role in the region. The City of Knowledge, regulated by Decree since 1998; Panama Pacifico regulated by Law since 2004, and Colón Free Zone (CFZ), regulated by Decree on 1948 are special economic areas.

In addition, Panama offers a special regime to Multinational Corporations Headquarters (MCH) created by Law in 2007 which is a legal entity able to operate as a foreign company registered in Panama or as a Panamanian company, property of the transnational company.

The Firm has an extensive experience in this practice, offering to our clients a full range of legal services.
