Melissa Abood


Practice Experience
From 1999 to 2001, she held the post of legal assistant, focusing on Administrative and Corporate Law. In 2001, she worked at the Conciliation and Decision Boards of the Ministry of Labor and Workforce Development in Panama City. From 2004 through 2007, she was employed at well-known local law firms, working in the fields of Commercial Law, Intellectual Property and Private and Public Contracts.

Melissa works in our Banking and Securities Department. Her practice covers a wide range of banking and finance transactions including, project finance syndicated lending, corporate financing, structuring of guarantee trusts in general, structuring and registration of public issuance of securities. She has experience in registrations of licenses at the Superintendence of Securities and Superintendence of Banks, and also advising in the structuring and registration of investments funds in Panama.

She acts for local and international banks, brokerage houses, trust companies, funds and corporate. She has lectured on bank credits documentation and their guarantees before various banking institutions in our country.
